BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Principal Platform Engineer on this team, you'll be responsible for leading the design, execution, and ongoing support of mission critical platforms that enable reporting, analytics, and engineering needs across the organization. You will oversee the design and implementation of critical initiatives involving multiple systems, and coordinate the development of infrastructure supporting multiple organizations. You will need a commitment to ship quickly and the ability to overcome technical issues in a cooperative environment.

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Lead building and maintaining systems, supporting millions of active users, with hundreds of millions of daily API calls.
  • Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot the infrastructure and APIs supporting our family of applications.
  • Lead maintaining uptime and upholding SLAs for the platform.
  • Develop the infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures and roadmaps.
  • Lead monitoring and troubleshooting of platform quality issues.
  • Lead identifying bottlenecks and bugs, and devising solutions to these problems.
  • Lead implementing security and being an advocate for data governance in the company.
  • Always keeps an eye towards reducing compute, bandwidth and storage costs.
  • Diagnose intricately complex issues and evaluate, recommend, and execute the best resolution.
  • Ensure alignment to drive cross-platform consistency.
  • Architect, review, and harden the overall platform.
  • Deliver quality results to the platform engineering team.
  • Lead collaborations with business and technical teams.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of cloud-based platform engineering role experience
    • 7+ years of software development experience (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python)
    • 7+ years of exposure to SQL and non-relational databases
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Technical skills:
    • Strong background in data science and operations and a desire to further develop and broaden their skills in the area of AI platforms
    • Expert understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
    • Expert knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis).
    • Extensive experience with building cloud-based, highly-automated, near real time data processing platforms.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated in-depth problem-solving skills, especially in complex systems.
    • Expert foundation in "bridging the divide" between software products and the infrastructure that runs it.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Demonstrated in-depth analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 Years working as a data science or in a modeling and analytics role
  • 2-4 Years in a devOps role, or building and deploying infrastructure to build, deploy, and monitor applications
  • 2-4 Years in a role leading technical teams
  • Master's Degree, or equivalent experience with design, architecture, and leadership

The pay for this position has a salary range of $124,000.00 to $220,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
