Job Description:

Apex is hiring a Gaming Safety Specialist for an ongoing, long term contract role.
This is a remote position.
The rate is $29/hr w2.

A Specialist is the most Senior role on this Trust and Safety Team which is also compromised of Content Moderators and Appeals Advocates. Working as a specialist does require a deep understanding of our policies and processes. Training for this will be provided. From there a Specialist is given the training and tools to take on high level escalations, analyzing sets of data, creating strategic approaches to new challenges, interpreting user behavior, and executing on the clients needs and desires to keep it safe and welcoming to all users.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability in these areas or show an aptitude for learning them quickly and putting them into practice immediately. Through this work, a Specialist will develop the skills needed to expand their skillset to include an ability to work individually and diligently, providing quality responses to partner teams both internal and external that leave no questions or concerns. Alongside this, a Specialist will be working to create new processes and/or performance indicators that help make the teams work more efficient and impactful in positive ways.

Responsibilities

A Specialist will be taking on an expanded role in many different areas of our work. The work this includes is listed below, but as a Specialist you will be expected to take on additional asks, projects, and responsibilities as we continue to expand at the clients request:

Review and assess high impact escalations from patterns both internally and externally

o Examples of these escalations include, but are not limited to Child Endangerment, Prerelease Play, Tournament Play, Sensitive Fraud, and Danger to the client

Work with Management to prioritize business and information needs

o You may be tasked with investigating and determining the impact of a new process, working on assigned projects, or handling various unexplored opportunities.

o Alternatively, you may find during your work issues and bring them to management for assessment, bringing recommendations for how to handle these situations along with their impact thus far and expected impact if continued.

Be productive and responsible for your time spent working on a varied case and project load each week

o Understanding how to project time to completion, work on multiple projects simultaneously, provide timely reports and updates, and prioritize all work alongside day-to-day expectations.

Use your skills to analyze, interpret, define, and report on various items

o Using databases and data collection systems, the complex data sets found in them, application of statistical techniques with that data, and formulating real-time and projected outcomes.

A Specialist will be expected to handle overflow from the Investigator team when necessary. This overflow may include the following:

Escalations & Investigations

o Investigators are responsible for handling escalations from he clients internal partners and customers on a regular basis. As a result of these escalations, Investigators are also responsible for handling both the investigate aspect as well as crafting professional responses to our partners.

Enforcement Appeals

o All accounts that receive enforcement action lasting longer than one day on The Live Service are given the chance to appeal. Appeals allow us to educate and reform customers so that they can be re-introduced to the community.

Customer Inquiries

o In addition to answering customer Enforcement Appeals, Investigators are also responsible for engaging in Enforcement-related questions and inquiries which are transferred to our team via Customer Support.

Required Qualifications

Proven working experience in related field

Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact with clients, upper management and external parties.

Ability to handle extremely sensitive content and sensitive investigation scenarios that can ultimately lead to Law Enforcement escalations in some situations. Strong constitution is a must.

Ingenuity and persistence to obtain case information not readily available, with an eye for detail

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Good organizational skills needed to manage cases, projects, special requests, and adhoc work

Honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in sensitive content or sensitive investigative work

Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (PowerBI), databases (COSMOS), programming (SQL, C#)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Adept at creating queries, writing detailed reports, and presenting findings

Schooling in Business, Criminal Justice, Communications, Computer Science, Mathematics, Psychology, and/or Sociology
