Are you a RN that is looking for a challenging role and to be part of a great team? ChristianaCare is looking for a part-time, RN to be part of the Telephone Triage Team This part-time role is 48 hours every two weeks.
This position is located at our Avenue North facility. The selected candidate will triage calls that covers 9 primary care and specialty practices.
Hours will vary between 7am-6pm, and occasional coverage on Saturdays from 8am-12pm.
**Shifts will rotate between 7am-3:30pm, 8am-4:30pm, and 9am-6pm.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses callers needs and assists them with issues related to patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Adapts communication style to persons representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio- economic backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task, simultaneously thinks, talks, and types
- Uses excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information
- Utilizes the computer database to assess, educate, and document all information in an accurate manner
- Refers calls requiring a provider’s response and triages as medically necessary.
- Screens and responds to patient phone calls, directing to Clinicians as needed.
- Schedules appointments, based on necessity, by offering the earliest appointment available with each Clinician.
- Schedules urgent visits as appropriate.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
- Adheres to policies/safety practices established by CCHS
- Meets minimum established quality and productivity standards
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited two year college. BSN preferred.
- A graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited training program
- Current unrestricted multi-state license as a RN to practice in Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey. Will also need to obtain a Pennsylvania RN license.
- 3 years of related clinical experience in acute or ambulatory or emergency room area or telehealth preferred.
- Basic PC and keyboarding skill required
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
