Job Opportunity
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience to join our team in a dynamic clinical setting. The RRT will work the night shift with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts (19:00 to 07:00). This position may involve floating between various units.
Qualifications
Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
Washington state license required
Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required; PALS certification is preferred
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Experience in Level I Trauma facilities preferred
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced respiratory care in the Emergency Department and General Pediatrics
Administer medications and respiratory therapies, including bicarbonate, inhaled Flolan, ketamine, and nitric oxide
Utilize various equipment to deliver oxygen and perform aerosol therapy
Effectively manage ventilators and troubleshoot high-pressure alarms
Perform airway management and suctioning while ensuring patient comfort and safety
Interpret arterial blood gas results accurately
Work Environment
This position will involve working within a facility that has a total of 629 staffed beds, including a Level IV NICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac ICU, and PICU. The facility is recognized as a teaching hospital and provides services across multiple specialties.
Patient Population
The therapist will work with a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Preferred experience in pediatrics and adolescents is highly valued.
Schedule and Availability
Shifts: Night (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
Weekends: Required every other weekend
Block schedules available
No additional call requirements
Special Equipment and Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience with preferred equipment including Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Trilogy, and LTV1250 ventilators.
Professional Development
We encourage continued professional growth through additional training and skill advancements. Orientation hours provided: 36 hours.
