Summary
This position will manage the overall execution of the CHS Inc. Qualified Retirement (union & non-union pension plans and 401(k) plan) and Non-Qualified Retirement Plans (SERP and Deferred Compensation) including plan design, plan funding requirements, vendor partnerships and plan compliance. This position will also play a critical role in shaping retirement benefits programs and policies for the organization.
The Benefits Analyst who currently acts as the Retirement Plan Administrator will report to this position.
Responsibilities
20% - Manage Qualified Retirement Plans. Identify trends, opportunities for improvement and areas of risk related to overall design and management of the plans.
10% - Partner cross-functionally to support Executive (NQ) Retirement Plans including preparing and completing required filings (10Q, 10K, 162m & CD&A).
20% - Vendor Management—oversee the performance of record-keeping, investment management and consulting partner.
10% - Stay abreast of changing regulations, monitor plan compliance and implement necessary changes to maintain adherence to regulatory standards
10% - Collaborates with other CHS staff to identify and manage overall governance and agenda items for the Quarterly Retirement Plan Committee meetings; prepare corresponding materials.
10% - Employee Education: Prepare materials and conduct workshops and webinars to educate employees on retirement programs.
10% - Strategic Planning: develop long-term retirement strategies aligned with the company’s goals, considering factors like workforce demographics, industry trends, and regulatory changes
10% - Plan Design and Optimization: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and optimize retirement plans, including 401(k), pension, and deferred compensation programs. Ensure these plans attract and retain top talent while managing costs effectively.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED
7+ Years in a Retirement Plans Management Role
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree—Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
Several years of experience in retirement plan administration, preferably in a managerial role
Strong understanding of retirement plan regulations and compliance requirements
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence all levels of employees; executive presence
Strategic thinking skills that allow for identification of employee experience opportunities and recommend enhancements
Experience with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point and HRIS systems

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
