Responsibilities:

As a Junior Systems Engineer with MTSI, and within the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically U.S. Space Force/Space Systems Command (SSC)/CGN (Narrowband SATCOM Acquisition Delta), you will play a vital role in facilitating the transfer of defense equipment, services, and training to international partners. Your responsibilities will primarily involve technical support, coordination, and liaison activities with CGN Mission Partners. You will work within a dynamic team environment, interfacing with various stakeholders across the DoD.



Your essential job skills and functions will include but may not be limited to:

Technical Assistance: You will provide technical support to defense systems, equipment, and services for potential Mission Partner cases and collaborate with senior engineers and program managers.
You will understand systems / system of systems architectures, particularly concepts behind satellite communications systems.


You will understand systems engineering principles, including technical requirements definition and system allocation.


You will understand project management and systems integration tasks and the importance of assessing the technical maturity and risks in development.


Demonstrate that you can work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.


You will provide systems engineering support services in delivering Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) access to ensure compliance with technical specifications and requirements.


Under the guidance of a senior engineer, you will provide systems engineering project management support and subject matter expertise in support of requirements development/review, CONOPS and Use Case development, and planning and support of verification and validation events.


Documentation and Reporting: You will assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and technical manuals.


You will have knowledge of industry standards with the ability to learn specific standards and regulations related to space systems.


You should have some experience creating, editing, and presenting technical materials related to Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs.


Customer Liaison: You will serve as a point of contact for Mission Partners, addressing their technical inquiries, providing clarification on technical aspects of proposed systems, and facilitating communication between the customer and internal stakeholders.


Coordination: You will collaborate with external agencies, such as DISA, NIWC Pacific, and SSC.


You will participate in program management/project meetings, conferences, and reviews, including preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and tracking action items, developing, preparing, and providing graphics support for executive level briefs and presentations.
Training Support: You will assist in the development and delivery of technical training programs for Mission Partners on the operation, maintenance, and support of MUOS systems access.


Quality Assurance: You will participate in quality assurance activities to ensure that delivered defense equipment and services meet the specified technical requirements and quality standards.



Qualifications:

0-5 years of work experience preferably with the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or U.S. Space Force/Space Systems Command (SSC).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical requirements and propose practical solutions.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.


Proficiency in technical writing and documentation, with attention to detail and accuracy.


Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.


Performing DoD systems management, reduction, and analysis of C4ISR architecture data, development of systems of systems enterprise architecture, and architecture design tradeoffs, including application and interpretation of DODAF architecture principles.


Experience with global military UHF SATCOM, global Navy shore networks, and commercial or military WCDMA communication systems.



Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.

Clearance Requirements:

Active DoD Secret clearance to start, Desired.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

The pay range for this position in California is $95,000/year to $115,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job- related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
