Program Overview: 
The National Museum of Health and Medicine was established during the Civil War as the Army Medical Museum, a center for the collection of specimens and artifacts for research related to trauma and pathology. The museum's mission to preserve and explore the impact of military medicine spans more than 150 years and includes each major U.S. armed conflict. However, military medicine does not exist in a vacuum, and it is the museum's vision to preserve, inspire, and inform the history, research, and advancement of military as well as civilian medicine through world-class collections, digital technology, and public engagement. Visit the museum to learn about topics ranging from combat casualty care and traumatic brain injury to the history of vaccine development and techniques in forensic identification.

The museum's exhibits and programs provide forums for both informal and structured learning that connect the mission of the Department of Defense Museum with the public. The museum is a division of the Defense Health Agency Research and Development Directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain an open-source Content Management System (e.g. Drupal) and its supporting components in a Linux cloud environment
  • Perform server patching to ensure compliance with applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in the production environment to minimize impact to mission critical systems
  • Coordinate with the development and infrastructure operations teams on O&M and Project related activities
  • Assist with the development, management, and subsequent enhancements to the automation engine and scripts associated with the code deployment process
  • Support integration with other technologies such as Akamai CDN and search solutions (e.g. Google Search Appliance, Solr, Elastic Search)
  • Write shell scripts and Ansible playbooks to automate routine processes
  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among the team
  • Provide on call support for production issues

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Minimum Requirement:

  • Unix Environment Certification
  • Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL
  • Hardware: Dell, Microsoft, HP
  • Systems: SAP, SPSS, MCSE (SharePoint), Microsoft Specialist (Win10, SQL)
  • Security+(8570 Level II)
2. Desired Certifications and Experience:
  • GSLC, CISM, CISA, C/CISO or CISSP
  • ITIL V3
  • Systems: SAP, SPSS, MCSE (SharePoint), Microsoft Specialist (Win10, SQL)
3. Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or 10 years’ experience)
4. Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience or more
