The IT Systems Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems and network infrastructure within the organization. This multifaceted role involves providing technical support, designing and maintaining IT systems, and managing network components, among other responsibilities. The candidate should be capable of both systems and network administration, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise and an ability to work independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

System Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT systems, including servers (on-premise/Azure Cloud), workstations, and associated software.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support system upgrades, migrations, and integration.

Network Administration:

  • Establish and maintain network standards and procedures in line with industry best practices.
  • Manage and maintain local network systems, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Ensure network security, implementing and monitoring access controls and security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, both on-site and remotely.
  • Participate in network planning and design, and work with Project Leads on network-related projects.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users, addressing system and network issues promptly.
  • Work with the Service Desk team to represent the technical support function.
  • Collaborate with Project Leads to assess and implement new software releases and hardware upgrades.
  • Support the roll-out of PCs, software, and hardware, ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Assist in the management of equipment and personnel in local and remote locations.
  • Participate in major projects, including software and hardware installations, occasionally taking the lead in coordinating project activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT systems engineering and network administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, desktop operating systems, networking, security, and server software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft MDM software, Intune.
  • Proficiency in mixed Windows/Mac environments.
  • Knowledge of virtualization for both servers and desktops, including Azure and VMware.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software, on-site and remotely.
  • Approachable and attentive to end-users' needs.
  • Experience in coordinating and participating in IT projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Dedication to upholding the company's values of integrity, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Hybrid work environment: must be able to be on-site 2-3 days a week.
