Veterinary Technician - Kildaire Animal Medical Center

Shift/Schedule: Full-Time (three or four 10-hour shifts)

About You

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Veterinary technician licensure preferred or (depending on state requirements) 2-3 years of Veterinary Assistant experience
  • Must have surgical, anesthesia experience
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Kildaire Animal Medical Center is a General Practice Located in Cary, North Carolina. At Kildaire Animal Medical Center, we offer primary care, boarding, grooming, day care, bathing, and dentistry for cats and dogs in Cary, Greater Raleigh, and Apex.

We are a team of veterinarians focused on disease prevention and wellness, dental care, surgical care, diagnostics, and more

We are open Monday: 7:30am - 8:00pm , Tuesday - Friday: 7:30am - 6:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $16 - $18 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
