Speech Language Pathologist

Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team; provide evaluation and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders and help students access educational and social curricula.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our school-based teams.

Experience working in public school setting as well as experience working with students with social-emotional-behavioral needs preferred

The appropriate candidate will work closely with special education staff to address the needs of students in PreK to middle school.

Responsibilities:

Provide instructional supports and strategies for special education students according to IDEA requirements.

Attend IEP meetings/staffing and other meetings as requested

Support teachers in developing and; implementing social and language-based supports

Complete needed paperwork and job-related functions in a timely manner

Develop and maintain schedule including intervention and Team meetings

Gather, collate and/or classify data; generate reports and consider a wide variety of factors

Utilize a variety of job-related equipment and assistive technology and AAC

Routinely attend district and school-based meetings, training and professional development

Compliance with existing laws and professional ethics

Maintenance of appropriate continuing education credits, as well as state licensure

Other duties as requested by the Coordinator of Related Services, Pupil Personnel Director, or Building Principal

Travel to more than one work location in the course of the day may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Degree in Speech/language Pathology from an accredited program.

2. Certification achieved by passing the national certification board examination.

3. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Massachusetts

Two or more years of experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
