The Director of Business Finance is responsible for developing and maintaining profitability analysis models and will ensure that profitability analysis models are made for existing and upcoming customers and assets and will perform profitability analysis across FDB modalities.

The Director of Business Finance will head up and drive the FDB pricing committee, who agrees on FDB pricing strategies and will also be involved in commercial negotiations with the sales commercial team and/or key customers directly. Overall responsibility for developingand driving efficient processes to ensure the maintenance of global operations in Financial Control through ambitious target setting, creating transparency across the financial status of operations whilst controlling the risks and ensuring there is no significant unplanned surprises.

The Director Business Finance will lead and support a team who are responsible for Commercial Finance across all FDB sites globally and be responsible for planning and driving all financial forecasting processes in FDB as well as financial management reporting in FDB Operations.

Principal Accountabilities

Drive Commercial Finance including Profitability analysis and customer negotiations

  • Create profitability transparency including scalable solutions for profitability analysis
  • Drive the FDB pricing committee, who agrees on FDB pricing strategies
  • Support the Operations LT on direction setting
  • Attending customer negotiations
  • Cross collaboration with Commercial, production and program management
  • Close liaison with the entire FDB global finance team and heads of finance at all FDB sites to co-lead any improvements of FDB harmonization of finance policies, procedures and working processes
  • Be a trusted partner to the VP of Operations Finance on all finance-related matters and, as needed, act as the primary delegate of VP of Operations Finance

Develop, maintain and drive efficient processes to keep Operations in Financial Control

  • Ensure that the team drives the financial forecast processes efficiently, including excellent stakeholder management across all global stakeholders in Operations
  • Maintaining and driving efficient processes to ensure to keep Operations in Financial Control
  • Drive and support financial control and financial compliance activities across operations
  • Ensure ambitious target setting and create transparency on the financial status of Operations and ensuring no significant surprises

​Lead and develop the Business Finance team

  • Develop and maintain Business Finance team strategy
  • Drive team performance through regular team meetings
  • Regular 1-1 with all employees including performance and development discussions
  • Support the continuous improvement of the team around you focusing on optimizing and stabilizing the financial operations on the growth journey as well as developing a high performing, motivated and competent team

Education Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics and business administration or a Professional Accounting ACA, ACCA, ACMA or CPA or equivalent 

Experience Requirements

  • 5 years+ experience of leading finance teams at a senior level, preferably within the commercial finance and/or production finance space (with solid understanding of production processes)
  • 3 to 5 years of people management experience
  • Natural self-starter with a systematic and dynamic approach to work
  • Ability to be the courageous challenger to the status quo, especially within finance matters.
  • Driving change and alignment with the right positive problem-solving attitude to finding the solutions that fits everyone.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and convey concise information at all levels of the organization.
  • Expected high-level of attention to detail with outstanding analytical and data management skills
  • Proven experience of working with multi-site, multinational organizations across different time-zones
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and credible relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Essential experience in a global or international
  • impacting role preferable in a manufacturing environment

Although this may be a remote posting, the incumbent must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from one of the FDB US locations.  The US salary range for this position is $185,000 to $240,000.  Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This position will require access to technical data, technology and source code that is controlled under U.S. export laws and regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations at 22 C.F.R.
