Position summary: Applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Essential functions and responsibilities Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations Performs and coordinates routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues. Prepare daily progress reports in Procore (Daily Log) that records weather conditions, the Contractor’s daily work activities, quality control tests, inspections of authorities, notes, deficiencies, safety incidents, deliveries, and other observations. Photographs work to document inspections, progress, observations, and upload photos to Procore with photo description. Maintain adequate documents as determined by EPE’s Project Manager. Responsible for distributing daily reports to the project team. RPR shall get direction from EPE’s Project Manager on format of daily reports. Daily reports shall be complete and distributed to the Project Team within 24 hours of the previous workday. Gathers and maintains recorded documents. Makes field notes and computations Interact with the public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries Nonessential functions and responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Strong Computer proficiency Active driver’s license Able to work throughout the State of Texas on a permanent basis Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience) 20+ years of Construction Inspection Experience Client requested certifications Preferred Experience Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering Supervisory experience in construction management and or construction quality control inspections. Ability to act in an Owner’s Agent/Responsible in Charge role Working Conditions Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
