Mechanical Assembler I-II-III ($24-31hr)

Are you looking for a well established cutting-edge ISO 9001 & AS 9100 certified leading manufacturer where you'll be responsible for deliver highly technical products? THEN READ ON In this role you will be responsible for the assembly of small sub-assemblies to complex mechanical systems involving many parts and components. Our ideal candidate will have at least three years of mechanical experience, a passion for precision, and an eye for detail.

Immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembler in Pittsburgh who possesses:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical School or Machining Apprenticeship is desirable
  • 0 years experience for level I, 2 years for level II and five years of experience in mechanical assembly for level III
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Required to attend Fork Truck training and obtain certification
  • Ability to travel to 10%-15% domestically; occasional international travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble and test complex mechanical systems involving a large number of parts; alignment and precision tolerance of parts is critical
  • Evaluate the alignments of axes in relation to each other: verify the orthogonality and angular displacement measurements through use of autocollimators, mirror assemblies, electronic indicators, or alignment telescopes
  • Fit and size parts using lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other tools
  • Clean and prepare parts for paint
  • Assist in the packing and shipping of equipment to customers
  • Perform field service functions on equipment, both domestically and internationally
  • Assist Quality Control in the calibration and maintenance of the Metrology lab
  • Maintain orderly work area, machines, and equipment
  • Meet budget and schedule requirements
  • Provide feedback to Engineering Department to reduce production problems
