The BI Engineer has two primary functions 1. solves complex business problems and issues mining data from internal and external sources by providing visually driven insights to decision-makers using both generative and predictive AI techniques. 2. responsible for defining, designing, building, and testing business intelligence dashboard visualizations using the latest technology, incorporating generative AI for innovative data presentation and predictive AI for forecasting and trend analysis. Our ideal candidate should be comfortable sitting at the intersection of data integration engineering, data science, and business analysis, and will be asked to deliver across all three vectors. They should be passionate about working with disparate datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer business questions. They will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams to solve problems, and deliver information about our leaders that we might never have considered. Responsibilities

Own the BI landscape - design, build, document, and maintain a single source of truth for KPIs and dashboards using front-end BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Own development of visualizations and assembly of analytics “story” indicating trends, patterns and outliers

Manipulate/mine data from database tables, log files using scripting languges .

Develop analytical tools: deep-dive tools, UIs, metrics, and dashboards

Perform deep-dives and root cause analysis to answer business questions

Effectively communicate solutions and methodologies to leadership

Work closely and be hands on with the Data Engineering team to ensure the availability and accessibility of relevant data for reporting purposes.

Analyze existing reports and optimize them for standardization
-
Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools.
-
Participate in the preparation of cost and resource estimates needed to complete sections of complex data analysis proposals. Develop estimates on smaller data analysis projects.

Implement full technical documentation of data analysis systems, solutions and results.

Develop professional contacts through association memberships, and attending seminars, to provide continuing awareness of recent advances in numerical analysis, computer science and statistical technologies.

Defines acceptance criteria, test plans and provide feedback on solutions as and when necessary

Apply industry standard UI design, data lake needs, to assist in providing optimum solutions

Follows Agile development processes(via JIRA) and uses Confluence to document everything as requested

Develop and implement algorithms to on-demand visuals that answer specific business questions.

Create models using tools that help Predict future trends and evaluates potential risks based on historical data (e.g., demand forecasting).

Develop self service capabilities within the BI tools for users to be able to slice and dice information as needed.

Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.

Identify unusual patterns or behaviors that could influence business outcomes and suggest preventive measures.

Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.
Skills

Experience designing & building intuitive and actionable dashboards and data visualizations , reports, filters, metrics that drive business decisions

Strong storytelling skills and clear communication / writing skill

Fluent in talking to both data analyst and functional teams

Adept at adjusting visualizations based on applied business context
-
Understand Agile process to create the needed user stories and specifications
-
Strong SQL and programming skills like Python.

Proven expertise with Tableau & Advanced PBI Skills. Microsoft Onelake experience a big plus
-
Faciliates and explores clear business requirements. Understands the unspoken needs and ability to clearly articulate the same via a business data story

Clearly articulates data lake needs via visio
-
Creates What-If senarios via PBI and Excel, Product mix similar models and ability to provide deep insights with every dashboard built consistently every week.

Prepares Acceptance test for all requirements

Produces Status reports, production planning reports and other project-related documentation

Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and generative models (e.g., GPT, BERT).

Proficiency in using tools and frameworks for content generation and text analysis.
-
Experience in developing applications that leverage generative AI for business use cases.
-
Experience with time series analysis, regression models, and classification algorithms.
-
Proficiency in using predictive analytics tools and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
-
Expertise in advanced predictive modeling techniques, including ensemble methods and deep learning.

Experience in deploying predictive models in production environments and monitoring their performance.
Educataion/Experience
-
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics, or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary

Expert Experience using Python, Power BI, Visio, ETL (Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica), R, MSBI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MSQL)

Knowledge of trending and effective charting packages for PBI
-
Familiarity with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras
-
Microsoft Onelake and Amazon Redshift experience is a plus
-
3+ yrs Experience with Agile, Python, AWS 2.0 platform, Datawarehouse (Azure Data warehousing)

3+ yrs Experience with Data ingestion, Data processing and Data publishing methodologies

Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting.

Understanding data modeling, data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.).

Prior Agile process experience is required.
