Role: SQL Developer

Job Classification: Developer - Level II

Period of Performance: Through June 30, 2025 (Initial Period) (Upon full execution of work order.

Location: Offsite / Remote

Number of Resources: The proposed work order will require at least one (1) resource. Provide no more than one (1) carefully selected candidate and resume that meet the criteria as outlined in this solicitation.

Candidate References: Provide a minimum of three (3) candidate references closely related to services as listed in the statement of work including project size, scope, duration, reference point of contact, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES
1) Establish and document the technical requirements for reporting software including tables, views, report design, unit test plans, and test cases.
2) Assist in all phases of the reporting software development cycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and production support.
3) Proficiently create and maintain complex SQL statements to generate tables and views that will be used by PowerBI developers to drive visualizations. Develop and enhance SQL-based tables and views as per user requirements.
4) Facilitate SQL design sessions and SQL code walk-throughs to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices using dbt.
5) Have at least 1 year of experiences as a dbt developer, with a strong focus in Snowflake.
6) Knowledge of snowflake, git, pull requests, visual studio code, and dbt is strongly recommended.
7) Develop and maintain documentation on all database models, tables, guidelines, methods, and standards to ensure consistency and clarity.
8) Provide recommendations for further definition of development standards and application architecture based on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
9) Conduct unit testing and assist in user testing of complex SQL statements or report modifications to ensure quality and functionality meet requirements.
10) Train other staff members on development processes and standards to ensure consistency across the team.

WORK SCHEDULE: The resource(s) shall be available to begin work upon full execution of the agreement. Standard work hours will be Monday thru Friday between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, unless other arrangements are mutually agreed upon. The actual schedule may be adjusted based on project needs by the sponsor.

OTHERS: For the duration of the project, the proposed firm and/or resource are expected to bring their own laptop computer equipped with appropriate tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc. A performance review will be conducted by the District to ensure services are performed satisfactorily by the Contractor and its resource. Contractor will be notified by the District of their performance. If the review is unsatisfactory, the contractor will be required to submit a corrective action plan to address the deficiencies. If the performance is not improved, the contract will not be renewed.
