Description

Dominion Diagnostics is the premier provider of comprehensive clinical quantitative urine drug testing, medication monitoring, and support services nationwide. This is an in-office position located in North Kingstown, RI.

Interpretation Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

This position is for an on-site toxicology Interpretation Scientist responsible for the analysis of human urine and oral fluid samples for drug confirmation via LC-MS/MS instrumentation. The Interpretation Scientist is responsible for the detection and quantification of parent drugs and metabolites in over 30 unique assays. The Interpretation Scientist is responsible for analyzing and reviewing calibration standards and controls for acceptance, processing, and reviewing confirmation data and resulting data. The position requires performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the LC-MS/MS instruments.

Full-time:

Tuesday through Saturday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. or

Wednesday-Saturday 7 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Minimum Education/Experience : Must meet or exceed the minimum education/experience requirements below:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science
  • OR
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science with
    • A minimum of 24 credits in Chemistry or Biology coursework

Primary Duties/Responsibilities :
  • Performs urine or oral fluid toxicology for quantitative LC-MS/MS analysis following SOP guidelines.
  • Process and review calibrators and controls to determine batch acceptance per SOP guidelines.
  • Process and review all patient data ensuring all data meets acceptance criteria per SOP guidelines.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot LC-MS/MS instrumentation ensuring proper function.
  • Maintain testing workflow to ensure accurate and timely lab reporting.
  • Documents all corrective and preventative action in all testing procedures using good documentation practices.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of instrument logs, QC data, and run information.
  • Works to builds knowledge, understanding, and proficiency in the processing, analysis, data interpretation, and resulting of biological samples through LC-MS/MS testing.
  • Works to builds knowledge, understanding and proficiency of LCMS instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assists in performing other duties in the laboratory, when needed.
  • Assist in training of new employees
