SUMMARY: A maintenance clerk is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks such as operating computers, inventory databases, and various reports and spreadsheets. One maintenance clerk used their administrative skills to facilitate immediate turnaround for purchase orders and inventory control. Another maintenance clerk-maintained cleanliness and organization of Reliability Department’s spaces. They are also responsible for coordinating maintenance requests, implementing efficient systems for accessing preventive maintenance information, and generating work orders. They may also use various office equipment throughout the day to include copy machines, printers, and laptops. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete overhaul and re-organization of Reliability Departments parts inventory including cataloging, store counts, and maintaining critical inventory. Monitor and audit work orders daily using Maintenance database systems (verify inputs in comments, ensuring labor is captured correctly in all appropriate fields) Assist the Reliability Manager with general clerical work, data entry and parts inventory. Assist with third party maintenance accounts, work order tracking, and invoices through JDE and Coupa accounting programs. Answer phones, process parts orders, maintain order files, run daily reports, check inventory. Monitor and follow through preventative maintenance task request changes or addition in to ensure proper/timely completion of open work orders. Assist the Reliability Team with repairs as additional support with time permitting. Use Predictive Maintenance Tools to generate follow up maintenance work orders. Perform routine maintenance issues dealing with production or facilities. Perform routine inspections and audit of Maintenance spaces and areas. Minimal janitorial duties may be required (cleaning shop, discarding parts packaging, wipe down and cleaning of serviced areas) JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED, associate degree in engineering, or comparable experience in the position field with maintenance or inventory management. Packaging industry experience is preferred. Critical thinking skills in developing strategies to attain performance objectives. Experience working with Predictive Maintenance tools such as Infrared, Vibration, Oil, and Ultrasonic analysis, shaft and machine alignment, and precision maintenance preferred- Training available. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Able to communicate both in email and phone calls for parts and material procurement. Able to problem solve with parts researching. Collects and analyzes information skillfully using reports and applications. Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently. Organizational support - follows policies and procedures and supports goals. Effective computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, JDE, & Coupa. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic Math skills required. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fraction, and decimals. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. Prefer experience with AS/400 and JD Edwards, but willing to train. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling & reaching. Operation of Forklift and Lifts (PIT) Loading and unloading materials using pallet jacks. Able to use ladder and small step stools. Able to move a tool cart with tools. Able to scale ladder to roof for inspections and small tasks. PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT: Occasionally, the employee will be asked to enter a production environment while performing the essential functions of this job. Constant dry/dusty (paper) environment. Machinery and forklifts. Hair/Beard nets, Safety glasses, & hearing protection to be worn when required.
