We are seeking experienced Freight Brokers to join our growing team at our Shakopee, MN, and Saint Cloud, MN locations.
Job Description
As a Freight Broker with our company, you will play a crucial role in managing and expanding our business by handling all aspects of freight movement for your customers. This A to Z position requires an experienced professional who can bring their existing book of business to our platform and ensure the seamless coordination of shipments from start to finish.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Freight Broker with a strong book of existing business.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the logistics and transportation industry, including carrier networks, pricing strategies, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and carriers.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously, with strong attention to detail.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using transportation management systems (Mcleod Software) and other relevant transportation tools such as Macropoint, DAT, Carrier 411 and My Carrier Packets.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management: Leverage your existing business relationships to bring new customers to our logistics platform. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with your clients, providing personalized service and support.
- Freight Coordination: Manage the complete lifecycle of freight movements, including sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, scheduling pickups and deliveries, and ensuring on-time performance.
- Carrier Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring that we have a reliable network to meet customer demands. Negotiate competitive rates and long lasting relationships with carriers.
- Problem Solving: Proactively address and resolve any issues that may arise during the shipment process, including delays, damages, or customer complaints, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all shipments are properly documented and comply with industry regulations and company policies. Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and competitor activity. Use this knowledge to provide insights and recommendations to your customers and to optimize the profitability of each shipment.
