Overview:

Job Summary

TheTransportation Coordinator will be responsible for executing the customer service, transportation, and contract administration elements of the job. This role functions in a fast pace, demanding environment to ensure business unit objectives and customer requirements are met or exceeded. Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are essential to be successful in this position.

The Logistics Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Logistics and Customer Experience

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shipment Administration

Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate transportation to/from counterparties as indicated on the contractual agreement. Proactively arrange and manage carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery. Work with in-house teams to resolve transportation issues to the satisfaction of all parties.

  • Schedule loads with transportation vendors, including communicating reschedules as needed.

  • Record shipment details accurately in MECs systems of record.

  • Dispatch shipments to carriers per customer requirements

  • Daily pickup/delivery follow-up with transportation vendors recover dropped loads as needed

Quote & Cost Management

Support in-house teams by providing accurate and detailed transportation quotes to enable knowledgeable deal structuring. Negotiate rates and services through the network of transportation links and storage points, or nodes, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Work with in-house teams to reconcile freight bill discrepancies to the satisfaction of all parties.

  • Request lane rates from carriers for upcoming and potential business
  • Negotiate rates and services to move shipment
  • Monitor/manage transportation vendor performance create on-time delivery scorecards
  • Call and solicit new/existing asset carriers and freight brokers to cover MEC freight

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent transportation and customer service experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
