What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: The General Manager (GM) will oversee all aspects of the company's day-to-day operations, leading the overall strategy to improve business functions by managing staff, overseeing budgets, developing growth plans, and ensuring the smooth running of all departments within the organization, ultimately aiming to increase profitability and achieve company goals.
Ideal Background
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited university is preferred.
Experience: This position requires minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/fabrication of ASME pressure vessels with a minimum of 4 years being in high-level management (financial involvement).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strategic Planning:
Working with Ownership to develop and implement long-term business strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
Operational Management:
Overseeing daily operations across all departments, including sales, marketing, customer service, and production.
Current Daily Operations:
- Review of all estimates and proposals
- Review of contracts
- Review of production plans and schedules
- Prefabrication build reviews
- Approval of all expenditures and Purchase Orders
- Working within an ERP system
Creating and managing budgets, analyzing financial data, and ensuring profitability.
Team Leadership:
Hiring, training, and motivating staff across all levels, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.
Performance Monitoring:
Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Focus:
Ensuring high-quality customer service and addressing customer issues.
Market Analysis:
Researching market trends and identifying new business opportunities.
Decision Making:
Making informed decisions based on data analysis and considering potential risks and impacts.
Reporting and Communication:
Providing regular updates to senior management on business performance and communicating key information to staff.
Skills and Qualifications for a General Manager:
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of the ASME Code
- Fabrication experience building Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers
- General knowledge of the Chemical/Petrochemical industry
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven experience in managing diverse teams
- Financial acumen and budgeting expertise
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Understanding of industry trends and market dynamics
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders
