Supervisor - Clinical - Transitional Aged Youth Job Code:12551 Location:Saco 04072 Department:Transitional Age Youth - Saco FT/PT Status:Full Time Summary: Sweetser is opening a brand new Transitional Aged Youth program right on our Saco Campus Come join our new Team $5,000 Sign-On Bonus The Clinical Supervisor oversees the treatment work implemented by the clinicians in the program. Oversees the clinician’s treatment work in assessment, treatment planning and service delivery, and documentation and accountability. Also holds clinical and operational responsibility for all aspects of the program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Allocate sufficient time and resources to successfully orient new employees. Ascertains that relevant information is reported to program manager and/or the team in a timely manner. Assures it is the norm of the supervisory sessions that the majority of the time is spent on client care in the supervision process. Be a role model in the use of the 5 basic principles. Collaborates flexibly and responsively with the area service network on behalf of clients to support smooth access to the program, coordinated service responses and client linkage with needed community resources and promote integration of care. Completes and reviews administrative and clinical documentation with focus on accuracy, completeness, relevancy and overall quality and timeliness. Coordinates recruitment and hiring of direct service staff with the Clinical Director (or designee) and human resources department. Demonstrates at all times the commitment to providing the least intrusive service intervention that supports the clients’ needs/preferences in the least restrictive setting that supports client and staff safety. Coach direct care staff and correct performance issues prior to engaging in the formal disciplinary process. Demonstrates skill in facilitation in accordance with Sweetser’s meeting guidelines. Demonstrates skill in training and supporting staff in, the role of the care coordinator and level of care. Develop and maintain staff scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Effectively and consistently addresses barriers to achieving success in productivity, documentation and clinical effectiveness by the ability to have difficult conversations with their supervisees. Ensures completion of all required clinical service documentation by clinical staff, including authorization requirements for KEPRO Assist by following proper Safety Care Procedures, including preventative behavior supports and physical interventions. Implementation of Safety Care principles in the milieu. Ensures that the services provided are ethical and meet the standards of the organization, licensing and regulatory boards and are in accordance with the Rights of Recipients of Mental Health Services. Evaluate clinical staff performance through direct observation of clinical practice and feedback from staff, clients and community providers and works with the staff to enhance overall performance. Identifies and implements or arranges for needed clinical staff development programs, in collaboration with Clinical Director. Help the employee to demonstrate good clinical judgment and apply good treatment interventions. Is a “super user” of the EHR system and acts as a first-tier guide in using the EHR. In collaboration with program Director, ensures that the program meets all organization and licensing standards, regulations and policies. In collaborations with the program Director, monitors the program budget to ensure budget targets are met; implements productivity expectations; develops annual program goals and objectives; and assists in maintaining up-to-date manual of program policies and procedures. Maintains up-to-date familiarity with clients, progress in treatment, barriers, and direction in treatment Oversees treatment work of program clinical staff to ensure responsiveness to client need. Oversees possibly the referral, admission and intake/interview process for client admission. Provides regularly scheduled and on the spot clinical supervision to program clinicians and communicates supervision activities to Clinical Director. Provides program supervision, education, clinical direction and support to clinical staff to ensure the delivery of the highest quality of care, the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic service environment and the maintenance of client dignity and confidentiality in all service delivery. Responds to requests for technical expertise and/or support from clients, family members, community- based service providers and state agencies in order to support the admissions of children to the program. Supports and articulates the program and organization mission to staff, clients, providers and others. Uses the qualitative review process to promote the documentation of medical necessity; evidence of integrated care and the clinical development of the supervisee. EDUCATION: Master's degree in professional clinical discipline. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Hold independent licensure. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. EXPERIENCE: Preferred clinical experience in the program. Preferred supervisory experience. Strong knowledge base in systems/family therapy. Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment interventions, and documentation. Excellent computer skills and navigation of the electronic records system. Experience withKEPRO funding preferred. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Apply current knowledge of the population’s needs, area resources and policy requirements to supervision and intervention while continually expanding clinical and resource knowledge base. Assess variables underlying difficult situations, discern methods to diffuse or contain them and quickly implement the most effective intervention. At least an intermediate proficiency using a personal computer. Communicates ideas and opinions in a clear and constructive manner, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates team building and management skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, peers and the community. Manage multi-task situations and conflicting demands, cope with stressful situations, prioritize projects and responsibilities, and meet critical deadlines. Provide professional leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, collaborate and organize effectively, and understand and work with complex systems. Recognize signs of increasing clinical or situational risk and of escalating behavior and utilize de-escalation and safety implementation techniques effectively. Respond to clients, family and colleagues in a sensitive and respectful manner. Through leadership, behavioral example and policy, establishes a program culture of mutual support and program services. Uses listening skills, flexible collaboration and a consistent problem-solving focus in working to resolve differences with colleagues, peers and clients.
