Preferred Criteria:
- Experience as a specialty pharmacist in a hospital setting.
- Board Certification (ex: BCACP/BCPS/BCOP/CSP)
- EPIC and Beacon experience.
- ASHP-Post Graduate Year 1 ASHP General Pharmacy Residency.
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at provider clinics and specialty pharmacies.
- Clinical knowledge and therapy management for Chronic Inflammatory disease states/HIV/Oncology.
- Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize/follow-up.
- Flexible; able to cope with rapid change; comfortable with an ambiguous environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to provide comprehensive medication management including initial assessments, toxicity evaluations/symptom management, and reassessments.
- Capability to set priorities amongst a series of competing clinical and operational priorities and to effectively coordinate and direct the work of others to meet specified deadlines.
- Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills in MS Word and Excel
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
PHARMACY SERVICES.
•Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
•Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
•Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; and advising interventions.
•Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
•Mentors and fosters a constructive teaching environment that helps students, interns, and Pharmacy Technicians build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
•Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
•Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.
CLERICAL.
•Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones; updating patient information; or retrieving, entering, and revising patient electronic health records (EHR).
•Prepares and completes accurate documentation related to patients in medical and departmental records as required.
SAFETY.
•Participates in quality improvement processes, including updating and revision of safety and procedure manuals and interdisciplinary projects.
•Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment by complying with policies, procedures and regulations.
•Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
COMPLIANCE.
•Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure.
•Prepares, administers, and documents medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
•Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspections; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
EDUCATION:
Doctorate: Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy.

Pay Range is $90.94 to $104.56 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
