Description

CAMS corporate is seeking a Thermal Asset Manager in Houston, Texas or Raleigh, North Carolina. This position reports directly to the President of Asset Management. The successful candidate will manage a team of diversified subject matter experts to provide a full suite of asset management services to wind and other renewable energy resource owners.

  • Manage thermal power asset investments and administer owners' and the project companies' obligations and responsibilities under the project contracts while maximizing the value of the asset consistent with the owner's direction.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of experienced professional to provide full suite asset management services.
  • Create a team environment oriented in trust, open communication and creative thinking resulting in a cohesive team effort.
  • Develop and implement a business plan that meets the objectives of the owners, project structure and contracts.
  • Assure timely reporting of performance results by project personnel to corporate groups.
  • Optimize all elements of the asset commensurate with the appropriate risk profile.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators of the project and report to relevant business partners.
  • Represent the company's interest at the project level to assure maximum profitability and return on investment including participation in and scheduling the budget processes.
  • Maintain thorough awareness of commercial, financial and technical issues related to assigned projects.
  • Lead internal review process to report on the current and forecasted performance of investment.
  • Provide support to project staff to resolve project, contractual, commercial or regulatory issues.
  • Instruct operations personnel of commercial contract obligations that may affect project performance and operating requirements.
  • Represent the project investment in internal discussions regarding current status, future results, strategy and growth.
Requirements

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering, is required
  • MBA a plus
  • At least 8 years of energy commodity, contract management and/or technical experience
  • At least 5 years of asset management experience
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Skilled in negotiating and administering contracts and agreements, budget preparation, economic analysis.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of power plant systems, life-cycle analysis, operational requirements, safety and compliance requirements; effective management practices; property and casualty insurance; planning, budgeting and financial assessment; project financing and credit facilities.
  • Sound analytical skills to compile, as well as dissect and interpret financial and operational information
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
  • Ability to handle tough personnel issues.
  • Strategic management skills.
  • Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously.
