Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Toddler Teacher to join our team You will be leading a class of students age 18-36 months through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs. We are a state-funded preschool, therefore all of our teachers must be qualified via Title 5 standards.

Responsibilities

Create and follow a comprehensive lesson plan utilizing our FunShine Express curriculum

Teach beginning reading and math skills

Assist children with developing social and emotional skills

Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques

Communicate with parents and other school personnel via in-person communication, as well as our CareConnect and ChildFolio parent connection apps

Assess student's skills and performance via twice-annual DRDP assessments to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones

Title 5 Qualifications

Associate Teacher permit or higher (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications include minimum 12 semester units in ECE coursework including at least 3 units in the following coursework areas:

Child and Human Growth and Development

Child, Family, and Community

Programs and Curriculum

Infant and Toddler Development (preferred)

50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years. This experience must be verified by submitting an original letter from the employer on official letterhead.

Other Qualifications

Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management

Knowledge of Desired Results Developmental Profile assessments preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and background check

Willingness to complete Mandated Reporter, Pest Management, Sexual Harassment, and Child and Adult CPR trainings

Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines

Problem-solving and mediation skills
