Position Title: Clinical Audiologist
Reports To: Owner
Job Status: Full Time
Purpose of Position:
To provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology for patients of Norvell's
Hearing Aid Center. To ensure the highest standards of care while playing a key role in helping
our patients achieve a lifetime of better hearing. To coordinate and participate in special and
ongoing projects as assigned by the CEO or designated representative.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Connecting Through Assessments:
Initiate a bond by understanding each patient's unique hearing journey through
comprehensive assessments.
Gain insights into their personal experiences, needs, and aspirations.
2. Sound Sculpting:
Employ a range of audiometric tests tailored to each individual to craft a personal
sound experience.
Enable patients to revel in every auditory detail of their surroundings.
3. Navigating Choices Together:
Guide patients in choosing appropriate treatments such as hearing aids, ALDs,
and aural rehabilitation.
Ensure each patient receives tailored care based on their needs.
4. Ongoing Support:
Build trust by being available for check-ups, reprogramming, or addressing
concerns.
Provide continuous support to ease patient concerns and maintain device
functionality.
5. Heartfelt Counseling:
Offer compassionate counseling, addressing both technical and emotional aspects
of hearing challenges.
Provide a listening ear and support throughout the hearing journey.
6. Embracing Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in audiology and share knowledge with
patients.
Bring optimism and hope to those under your care.
Skills and Competencies:
Diagnostics:
Comprehensive Hearing Assessment (pure tone air/bone conduction audiometry,
word recognition testing in quiet & noise)
Immittance Testing (tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, reflex decay)
Tinnitus Assessment, Management, and Counseling
Dispensing:
Hearing Aid Sales and Counseling
Hearing Aid Electroacoustic Analysis
Probe Microphone/Real Ear Measurements
Counseling/Instructing Patients in Aural Rehabilitation Skills/Techniques

Requirements:
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Master's Degree in Clinical Audiology from an accredited university; Doctorate
of Audiology (Au.D or Ph.D strongly preferred).
Licensed in the State of Ohio as a Clinical Audiologist.
National Board Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology from ASHA,
AAA, or equivalent.
Specialized Knowledge:
Background in Health Services Administration or Health-Related Office Setting.
Proven competence in Hearing Aid Dispensing and Diagnostic
Neurophysiological Testing (e.g., evoked potentials, ENG, VNG).
Experience:
2+ years in relevant areas.
Major Position Responsibilities:
1. Perform diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology as indicated.
2. Assist with other diagnostic testing as needed.
3. Oversee the Hearing Aid Dispensing Program, including fitting, orientation, and
counseling.
4. Participate in QA/CQI improvement programs.
5. Assist with marketing of services where applicable.
6. Perform clerical duties including answering phones, scheduling, and billing as needed
(rare).
7. Complete employee orientation and annual clinical competency tests.
8. Perform contracted diagnostic services.
9. Assist with chart reviews, document acquisition, insurance verifications, and compliance
activities.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Position Responsibilities:
1. Assist with special projects involving sponsored programs as assigned.
2. Help with stocking and ordering supplies as needed.
3. Address purchasing issues where necessary.
