Summary About the Position: Serves as Training Specialist (Mortuary Affairs) and Project Leader performing a variety of analytical tasks related to the review, research, development and documentation of for theater-level Army MA training, combatant commands' operational plans and supporting doctrinal publications. Responsibilities Serves as the Course Manager, senior instructor for the Joint Fatality Management Planners’ Course and collective training lead for JMAC. Coordinates with JCS J4, HQDA G-4, TRADOC, FORSCOM, CASCOM, OCAR, NGB, and schools and integrating centers, and other Services, as well as non-DOD Federal agencies regarding MA training requirements. Develops and integrates training products involving MA requirements and capabilities for Joint and Army forces at the tactical, theater, operational and strategic level. Provides technical assistance and subject matter expertise to DOD agencies and CASCOM related to research, development, and acquisition of MA supplies, equipment, and related materiel systems. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes instructing courses in the basic, advanced and theoretical principles and techniques of the receipt, screening and shipment of human remains with data entry and accountability of personal effects utilizing precaution and personal protective equipment in the receipt, inventory storage and shipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Learning and Program Evaluation Technical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
