Job Description

POSITION TITLE

Classified Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current license as a Kentucky LPN

One (1) Year successful experience

Shall have a working knowledge of computers

Shall communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Shall possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Previous health related experience in school setting

Previous nursing care experience working with special needs students

Previous pediatric/adolescent nursing experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Shall have the ability to lift, stoop, push ,pull, climb, drive, any and all body movements as related to job description

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Director of Student Services or Designee

GENERAL DUTIES:

Administers medication and/or treatment as authorized by the students' health care provider and/or in consultation with AISD Nurse

Provides minor first aid to all students

Review health and immunization records for compliance

Observes, monitors and cares for sick and injured students under the direction of a AISD RN until parents arrive at school to pick them up.

Conducts health screenings; height, weight, vision, hearing, head lice, scoliosis and other health related assessments as needed and applicable to state regulations and school programs being implemented.

Provides health education sessions for students, staff and parents in conjunction with AISD RN

Acts as a resource for staff wellness programs

Performs other duties as assigned by AISD RN
