Job Summary

The Optical Dispenser is responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products to adults and children based on prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists. This position involves advising and assisting patients with various types of lenses and spectacle frames.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify accuracy of order data entry and filing procedures
  • Deliver sales and provide excellent member service
  • Take measurements, assure correct frame selection, and read prescriptions
  • Educate patients on available products and recommend those that meet their visual needs
  • Engage with members in the Optical department during downtime
  • Adhere to all privacy and company policies and procedures
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including handling transactions
  • Maintain club policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to work as an optician within the State
  • Knowledge of optical products and previousrelated experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Open shift availability for full-time positions
  • At least 18 years of age

Environmental Job Conditions

  • Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces
  • Frequently requires lifting objects up to 20 pounds
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area with exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises
  • Use of optical hand tools to adjust and repair Members' eyeglasses
