In a team environment, the Clinic Care Assistant performs a variety of clinical support and administrative duties. Under supervision, clinical duties include collection of medical history information, initial assessment of work injuries, administers pre-employment drug screens, initiating DOT/pre-placement exams using prescribed criteria, and supporting the Occupational Medicine providers. This role communicates with and provides information to patients and employers, handles updating and managing patient records, facilitates follow-up care for patients, and assists in completing required paperwork.
This is a full-time opportunity at our St. Paul - Midway MOH campus. This role may also require flexibility to pick up shifts at any/all of our MOH Campuses as needed. Scheduled day hours would be Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (subject to change).
- Measure patient statistics and vitals, including height, weight, blood pressure, eye evaluations or performing a urine analysis dip.
- Record patient medical history.
- Prepare patient for a physical evaluation.
- Prepare required instruments and equipment for physical examinations.
- Clean and stock exam/procedure rooms, including instruments and equipment, between patient visits.
- Assist provider, as needed, with various procedures.
- Assist with fitting and dispensing of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as appropriate, and as directed by provider.
- Provide standardized patient education instructions verbal or written.
- Perform urine drug screens (on-site collections and off-site client locations as needed).
- Perform patient testing, including fit testing, audiometry, CRTs and work simulations.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned, including manage patient charts to ensure accuracy and completion, sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab and x-ray reports and completing and sending employer paperwork.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and verifying insurance coverage / patient demographics.
- Order prescription refills, as needed.

QualificationsEducation Technical/other training of Other (preferred)
Experience Completion of a medical assistant program, certified nursing assistant program or LPN degree with active and current MN licensure. (required)
