Here's how a(n) Senior Estimator for our Seattle office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Contract Analysis: Review and analyze contract documents and specifications for various project types, including hard-bid/lump sum, construction management, and design-build.

  • Scheduling: Develop critical path schedules with milestones to ensure timely project completion.

  • Quantity Take-Off: Perform comprehensive take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials for large scopes of work.

  • Pricing Leadership: Lead the pricing strategy for general expenses and project-specific requirements for medium to large projects.

  • Estimate and Buy-Out: Prepare as-bid estimates and develop trade buy-out strategies in collaboration with the operations team.

  • Client Presentations: Assist in preparing and delivering proposals and presentations to clients.

  • Risk Management: Conduct risk and opportunity analyses to integrate into the project's risk register.

  • Tender Coordination: Collaborate with external consultants and manage the tender development process.

  • Project Success Criteria: Monitor and ensure project-specific success criteria are met, offering innovative solutions to challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent trade experience.

  • Gold Seal certification in estimating (CDN).

  • 12+ years in construction cost estimating with onsite experience preferred.

  • Proven experience in leading projects valued up to $250 million.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, planning, and scheduling.

  • Extensive knowledge of bid preparation, trade procurement, and bid closing.

  • Expert in contract terms and identifying contract risks.

  • Excellent communication skills, especially oral.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Extremely flexible to manage varied workloads.

  • Hands-on team player who supports staff.

  • Mentoring approach with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated and resourceful with strong organizational skills.

The salary range for this position is $142,545 to $184,470 annually based on experience and background.
