Experiential Therapist I

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiential therapy programming as scheduled.
  • Evaluate, plan, and coordinate therapy programs to meet patients' needs.
  • Maintain therapy environments for safety and supplies.
  • Be flexible with work assignments and program additions.
  • Complete treatment plans and evaluations according to policy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient groups and utilize intervention strategies.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required, preferably in art, music, dance, recreation, or other therapies.
  • Certification/registration through appropriate board preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • American Heart Association CPR or American Red Cross certification required.
  • Formal training in management of aggressive patients required.
  • Ropes and Challenge Course training required.
  • Employees at Child/Adolescent Day Treatment programs must meet additional requirements.
  • Applicable to Residential Care Centers and Community Based Residential Facility employees: Completion of required training.
