Our client, a well-known University in Philadelphia, is looking for a Financial Reporting Associate to assist with preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements and providing support for audits, tax filings, and internal reporting. The role will offer hands-on experience and the chance to develop your skills in financial analysis, reporting, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and following procedures.
  • Audit Support: Help support annual audits, including employee benefit audits and special purpose entity audits.
  • Variance Analysis: Assist with preparing variance analysis reports.
  • Tax Filings: Support the preparation of IRS Form 990 and 990-T schedules and filings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with accounting and budget teams to ensure smooth financial processes.
  • External Relations: Communicate and coordinate with external auditors and partners.
  • Process Improvement: Help develop new policies and improve financial reporting processes.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related roles. Experience in higher education or nonprofits is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with financial systems like Banner ERP, Hyperion, or Oracle OAS is a plus.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with a team.
