24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Footwear Product Designer for this onsite position in Portland, OR. This is a 5 month contract with likelihood to extend. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision.

Job Description:
Ideation & Visioning - Generates new ways of thinking about aspects of performance based products that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace. Develops ideas that are consistent with the vision for new products by collaborating with product creation on the genesis of new product concepts for all business units.

Research/Engineering - defines protocol and establishes scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept. In line with advanced knowledge of the consumer, business, and performance requirements, develops concrete insights which feed into the development of advanced product concepts through the use of new technologies or construction processes. Delivers proof of concept by turning concepts and new product visions into reality. Identifies key elements of product construction materials and processes. Engineers prototypes.

Project Management - Leads innovation projects turning concept ideation into reality by working in, or with, multi-disciplinary teams to include product creation, manufacturing, and 3rd party vendors. Meets complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions.

Communication - synthesis reports and creates final documentation to inform and educate internal stakeholders regarding new innovations. Is recognized externally as an industry expert. Clearly and concisely communicates the knowledge required and best practices to assist transition of technology to product.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum of 10 yearsrelevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert
• Knowledge of consumer, style & culture
• Build original product designs in collaboration w/ Design leadership
• Complete broad range of product price points & model types
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts & solutions for each project
• At times support projects & design community that are broader in scope - ex. Innovation, multi-gender/dimension/activity, supporting classification vs. collection
• Cross-functional communication and proficient at communicating design concepts to internal and external audiences
• Significant engagement with external partners (ex. athletes, league, collaborator, etc.)
• Cobbling and prototyping skills
• Digital design competence- design-based software needed: Creative Suite
• Preferred knowledge & experience with sophisticated digital tools/3D skills
• Ability to present new ideas or seasonal concepts to small & large groups, including addressing executive leaders & external customers
