Top Global Tech Company Seeking Senior Quantitative UX Researcher
W2 Only
Fully Remote in US
*Description:*
Our team has been supporting this client for the past 6 years across 50+ different business groups & pillars.
As a UX researcher in the Augmented Reality space, you'll have the opportunity to partner directly with a single, tightly integrated pod with significant freedom to operate with the time, people and space necessary for conceiving, building and launching brand new products. Research is paramount to this organization's success - formative research is needed to identify the right latent needs or problems in the world to tackle with product solutions, iterative design research is needed to mold early product ideas into testable prototypes, and creative evaluative research is needed to improve and prepare those products for market.

Job Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify, define and deliver meaningful products into the world
* Collaboratively and independently develop and execute research roadmaps
* Lead various research studies throughout all the phases of the product development cycle
* Contribute to product strategy, execution and go-to-market plan
* Manage research vendors to help augment the work of the research team

Skills:
* Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
* Extensive experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
* Extensive experience with storytelling to get traction with various audiences
* Extensive experience with autonomy and decision making to balance demands
* Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
Background Info:
*Top 3 must-have HARD skills:*
Very strong statistical skills: Expert in statistics. Knows how and when to use what methods, measures and what are the appropriate statistical tests to use with them, and then be able to execute those statistical tests. Must know and know how to use at least one statistical package.
Very strong survey skills: Expert in survey methods. Knows how to write survey questions, considerations of bias, appropriate adjustments, weighting procedures to apply, and expertise in survey best practices (with a particular focus on using surveys to define business and product needs)
Applied experience running research to help bring products to market. Must have gone through shipping cycles on products, and have a good command of launch readiness process (such as measurement and use of survey KPIs)

Good to have skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good at summarizing and communicating in a way that is concise and approachable (not overly academic) to varied audiences. Able to write in a way that makes difficult/complex statistical topics understandable by those with less experience. Strong partnerships with XFN.
Ability to conduct literature reviews quickly and thoroughly (knows where to search, can organize and bubble up top findings in a concise way etc.)
Good at preparing visualizations of data to tell a story

Candidate will be working across AR to standardize our survey measurement, write up guidance and best practices, and develop processes/standards for measuring key performance indicators. We are a team in charge of driving consistent UX KPI measurement programs. This means using strong statistical/survey rigor + experience working with product teams to come up with guidance we can apply across the org. Guidance will be written up and communicated via a Wiki (for researchers and XFN).

Candidate will get to apply their expertise to wide variety of teams driving a lot of impact, high visibility, and aligning a very disparate set of measurement workstreams. This will drive a strategy for launch readiness which will help improve the quality of all of our HW devices (and greatly influence the direction of our teams for years to come).
Working on measurement/quality bars for future tech with massive potential reach and innovation.

Typical Day in the Role: How will performance be measured:
Candidate will be a member of our council and will need to demonstrate strong statistical and survey expertise to help inform our alignment and guidance development. But also balance that with an understanding of how product teams operate and the launch readiness process. Demonstrating both domain expertise and an applied understanding of team practicalities. Candidate will help us summarize external research on various topics, and write up our guidance with justification. Meet with partner teams to triage requests and share our guidance/answer questions.
