We are in search of a proactive and strategic-minded Senior Business Development Manager to support select key industry teams. This role can be based in Silicon Valley (CA), San Francisco (CA), Santa Monica (CA), or Seattle (WA) offices. This role focuses on creating and executing strategic plans and initiatives while providing essential support to key partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist partners in managing their contact networks, ensuring consistent engagement with key contacts, and organizing partners' ongoing efforts.
  • Maintain and manage a database encompassing current clients, prospective clients, referrals, and various marketing and sales activities.
  • Identify potential opportunities to introduce other practices to our expanding corporate client base.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to market leaders, offering insights, best practices, and innovative ideas to enhance their business development endeavors.
  • Evaluate the quality of entrepreneurial events/organizations to guide partners' participation.
  • Coordinate and schedule business development activities, networking events, and meetings.
  • Secure speaking engagements for partners at relevant events and evaluate leads generated from such engagements.
  • Aid partners in screening unfunded startup opportunities and facilitate referrals of clients seeking funding.
  • Provide social media training to administrative assistants, focusing on Twitter and LinkedIn, to support partner reputation building and targeted communications.
  • Draft various correspondence, including introductions, gratitude letters, and reminders.
  • Act as an accountability resource for partners, assisting them in achieving their networking goals.
  • Prepare research and marketing materials for meetings with prospective clients.
  • Assist in responding to proposal opportunities and conducting postmortems on pitches.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the ideal candidate should possess 7+ years of relevant experience, with experience in law firms, Big Four firms, or professional services being advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA or JD preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, tailored to meet the needs of high-performing large law firm partners.
  • Experience in marketing, business development, and/or pursuit management is essential.
  • Strong relationship-building and persuasive skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in project and people management.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative abilities.
  • Understanding of technology industries and startup ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM tools, along with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel).
