Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center is a modern, fully-equipped facility, featuring three state-of-the-art operating rooms and one procedure room.
This center provides all of the convenience of a state-of-the-art outpatient procedure center yet provides families with access to the full array of pediatric services available at our hospital's main campus.
The center is staffed by anesthesiologists and registered nurse anesthetists who are specially trained in treating children.
Schedule: Part Time, 24hrs per week, 8hr Day Shift
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
2+ year experience as an RN circulating in the operating room. Pediatric experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Education/Licensure/Certification
BSN required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Current American Heart Association CPR certification. Current American Heart Association PALS card.
Pay Scale Information
USD $89,440.00 - USD $154,284.00

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
