Title: 3.11 Tier 1 Computer Support Technician / Intern
Reports To: Director of Technology
Employment Status: Full Time 7.5 hours/day, 216 days
FLSA Status: Exempt
$18.40 per hour
Qualifications:
1. Valid driver's license with personal transportation for coverage and support of multiple buildings. BCII Clearance 2. Preferred Associates degree or higher or equivalent experience with computers and technology repair 3. Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community.
4. Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance.
5. Good health, high moral character and good attendance record.
6. Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students and teachers.
General Description: Ensure that building technology is in excellent working condition. Support instruction by ensuring that equipment is maintained including headphones, projectors, AV equipment, interactive white boards, mobile labs, wireless connections, laptops, desktops, technology issues, etc. Act as a back-up building-specific technician in the event of an absence.
Essential Functions:
1. Support staff productivity machines, software installations, student Chromebooks, building-based iOS devices, displays, digital signage, interactive technology, mobile carts and computer labs, and peripherals as needed in each building.
2. Provide consistent program support for the district's technology department.
3. Monitor and address technology help requests as they are posted, communicate effectively with district repair and support personnel to resolve challenges as they arrive.
4. When needed, assist in the unpacking, inventory and setup of new equipment as it is acquired. 5. Provide assistance with account maintenance as it pertains to our directory system and any other account-based service we provide to staff and students (email, web-based applications, etc.). Maintain the highest level of customer service with teachers, students, administrators, and staff. Maintain records as required by district policy; maintain professional ethics. Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. 6. Work independently and proactively to solve problems related to building technology.
7. Provide evidence of professional growth and actively seek training necessary for successful technology integration experiences for teachers and students.
8. Model professional dress and maintain professional distance from students.
9. Provide for the care and protection of district property.
10. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Organize and prioritize workloads, performing work in an expedient and accurate manner.
2. Work on several projects simultaneously and maintain a flexible schedule when necessary.
3. Demonstrate team behavior and effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Additional Working Conditions:
1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
2. Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions.
3. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
