As an employee you’ll enjoy: Competitive pay and paid time-off (including your Birthday Day Off) Comprehensive training and well-being programs, and options for health benefits 403(b) retirement plan with 5% match after 1 year Free pet adoptions, pet vaccines and spay/neuter services …and so much more What you’ll do: Provide rescue groups with thorough medical and behavioral information, clarifying waivers and assessments, and assisting with animal introductions, while maintaining compliance with SDHS policies and proceduresProactively reach out to appropriate rescue groups regarding animals who are being recommended for placement, with the goal of exiting animals as soon as possible.Work closely with Director for Rescue & San Diego Campus and Rescue Supervisor regarding any questions or concerns that need to be addressed or brought up from rescue partners.Perform treatments (vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, blood draw, etc.) to animals in SDHS care as appropriate; schedule surgeries and approved follow up appointments as necessary. What we’re looking for: High School Diploma or equivalent required. One year of paid full time progressively responsible related experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary hospital, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes. Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus. This position will last for approximately 3 – 4 months. Pay: Starting range is between $19.00 - $21.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
