Description: 

GameStop is currently undergoing changes, transitioning from traditional methods to a more modern approach driven by technology. As part of our ongoing investment in technology, we are seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the development of essential back-end systems within our engineering infrastructure, with a specific focus on systems related to point of sale,  payments, transactions, and customer rewards. This role will encompass work on both legacy and new systems, ensuring continuity and innovation across our technology landscape. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Design and build software within our store technology platform, working across scalable front end, middle tier, and back end services
  • Work on an agile engineering team writing maintainable and scalable code for software components and influencing team decisions
  • Review code and provide meaningful feedback to peers to help build better solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement of software quality, engineering best practices, and maintainability of products/features
  • Exhibit a bias for action, constantly looking for ways to improve performance and customer experience

What you’ll need: 

  • 4+ years of software development experience 
  • 2+ years .NET experience
  • 1+ years cloud experience 
  • Eagerness to solve complex technical problems 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

You’ll stand out if you have: 

  • Strong experience as an owner of major technical projects 
  • AWS experience 
  • WPF experience
  • Retail software development experience
