Primary Duties
1. Leads the creation and execution of a comprehensive data strategy. This includes identifying key data sources in the enterprise, implements efficient extraction techniques, establishes governance frameworks, and captures security requirements. Defines data validation processes and documents quality standards.
2. Deploys, oversees, and maintains machine learning models. Ensures data used to build models derives from accurate and cleansed data sets. Operationalizes machine learning workflows. Stays abreast of the latest machine learning implementation methods which may include python and other implementation tools or programming languages.
3. Optimizes ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accessibility and integrity. Implements and maintains a data catalog to inventory of all data assets and quickly identify the most appropriate data to leverage in response to business needs.
4. Drives the analysis of large datasets to uncover actionable insights and trends. Champions a data-driven culture by promoting data literacy, collaboration, and decision-making based on evidence.
5. Applies expertise in data model development, data analytics, and data visualization tools to introduce innovative ways to answer critical business questions efficiently and effectively.
6. Collaborates with leaders across the enterprise to ensure the seamless integration of data initiatives. Strives to understand and translate business processes into data architecture, ETL requirements and analytical models.
7. Demonstrates proactive thought-leadership by actively keeping up to date on data architecture and technology trends. Evaluates and implements solutions to optimize data management and analysis capabilities.
8. Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, mentors, motivates and evaluates the performance of assigned employees.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field and seven years progressively responsible experience in data modeling, warehouse design and writing complex sql queries; or equivalent. Has a minimum of 5 years experience in writing/debugging code in open source languages or equivalent and has extensive development skills utilizing databases and has experience in implementing machine learning models.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with experience or knowledge of the technical area.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires a very high level of computer skills in order to use various programming languages for writing, modifying and executing programs.
Requires strong programming skills in Python or equivalent programming language with a strong hands-on knowledge of Data Cloud Platforms.
Physical Demands:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment.
