Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Summer is here and our Summer Enrichment Program is in full swing The SEP Counselor position is just like our normal Afterschool Program Counselor position, except it is full time and only takes place in the summer. SEP Counselors assist the children as they engage in their activities (art, science, athletics, and more), be a good role model for them, and make sure everyone is having fun This position does have the potential to become a part-time position in the fall when school starts again.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate willingness to participate in all areas of the Summer Enrichment Program
  • Responsible for a group of thirteen (13) children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.
  • Assist children with planned activities
  • Abilities to observe student behavior and assess its appropriateness, ensure safety, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Assist with all After-School Program activities and other activities as assigned
  • Maintains safety , cleanliness, and discipline of children, area and equipment
Requirements

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Skills in problem solving
  • Must have excellent communicate skills and the ability to work with groups participating (age and skill level), and provide necessary instruction to children
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • High School Education or GED is required / or working towards a degree/equivalent
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification is required
  • Basic childcare skills required

WORK SCEHDULE: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week for 10 weeks from June - August

Salary Description

$14.15 per hour
