Department: Pediatric ICU

Position Summary: The Pediatric ICU Nurse Intern will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing direct nursing care to assigned patients. This role will involve working with Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups. Duties will also include assisting with tests and procedures, administering medication, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a student in good standing enrolled as an intern at UNM CON and have completed a basic nursing skills course
  • Experience: No specific experience required, but 6 months directly related experience is preferred
  • Credentials: Must obtain CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification within 30 days and temporary or permanent RN license within 6 weeks
  • Physical Conditions: Heavy work may be required
  • Working Conditions: May involve exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials
