Neuroscience ICU Nurse - Full Time Nights

As a Neuroscience ICU Nurse, you will work within the nursing process to provide direct, safe nursing care to assigned patients. You will provide clinical leadership for other staff, including assuming relief charge duties when designated. Patient care assignments may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups. You will also enhance your professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, safe care to an assigned group of patients
  • Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations
  • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent has been obtained
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel upon successful completion of preceptor training
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their care by asking questions and reporting concerns

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of nationally accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Current RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers within 30 days of hire
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty preferred
  • Physical ability to meet job demands
