Summary

  • For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Speech Therapist

    Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time PT position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

    Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

    This position is a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist who must also be able to support the in patient department one day weekly and vacations

    Position Summary
    • The Speech/Language Pathologist is responsible to evaluate and treat medically related disorder of swallowing, language, voice, cognition, and motor-speech whereby enabling patients to reach their maximum rehabilitative potential. The Speech/Language Pathologist provides care to patients/clients throughout the divisions of LH, under the direction of the Wellness/Rehab Director and in collaboration with the Division Administration, referring Providers, and patient care team. The Speech/Language Pathologist follows the most current LH policy and procedures, Maine State licensing requirements, Scope of Practice, and Reimbursement Rules and Regulations relating to Speech Therapy. Each therapist will have a primary location, and be oriented to support other service delivery areas within the LH scope as competency and resources allow.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Master's degree or above, or four to ten years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • License/Certifications: Maine license.
    • Experience: See "Education"
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability t o respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • CCC (American Speech-Language Hearing Association).
