As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications using Ruby on Rails. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions while ensuring compliance with SOC 2 standards and HIPAA regulations. Your expertise in API integrations and cloud technologies, particularly AWS, will be essential in delivering seamless user experiences and secure data management.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
  • Ensure application security and compliance with SOC 2 and HIPAA standards.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends related to Ruby on Rails, AWS, and security compliance.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby and the Rails framework.
  • Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS) and cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance and HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient in API design and integration.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Understanding of database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or regulated environment is a plus.
