Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team at Velocity Staff. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications using Ruby on Rails.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions while ensuring compliance with SOC 2 standards and HIPAA regulations. Your expertise in API integrations and cloud technologies, particularly AWS, will be essential in delivering seamless user experiences and secure data management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, test, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
- Ensure application security and compliance with SOC 2 and HIPAA standards.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal functionality.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends related to Ruby on Rails, AWS, and security compliance.
- Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby and the Rails framework.
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS) and cloud architecture.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient in API design and integration.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Understanding of database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications include experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies, familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), understanding of CI/CD practices and tools, and previous experience in a healthcare or regulated environment.
