Job Description

As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately processing customer orders for shipment, scheduling inbound and outbound trucks, maintaining reports, assisting with shipping-related inquiries, and picking orders. This role is primarily based in East Moline and involves significant computer and Excel work, though you will fill in on the floor as needed. You will also coordinate a team of 7-10 people and float between East Moline and Davenport.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and track locations for all orders.

  • Identify and prepare orders ready for shipment.

  • Utilize Excel spreadsheets to manage orders.

  • Notify shipping of orders ready to ship using the shipping log.

  • Keep orders and shipping locations organized.

  • Audit materials loaded onto trucks and truckloads prior to shipment.

  • Book truckloads and troubleshoot material problems.

  • Prepare bills of lading and receive raw materials.

  • Process orders and complete bills of lading.

  • Schedule trucks for shipping and receive raw materials.

  • Pick orders as needed and handle pick up/will call customers with orders.

  • Ship samples and special requests.

  • Work with customer service and order entry on requests.

  • Expedite shipments, create and print labels.

  • Create and update work orders and assist with scanning and paperwork.

  • Maintain accuracy in keyboard and data entry.

Essential Skills

  • Forklift experience.

  • Knowledge of computers and shipping/receiving sheets.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Multi-tasking and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with audits, handheld scanners, and reviewing Excel data.

  • Accurate keyboard and data entry skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in shipping and receiving.

  • Data entry skills.

  • Ability to pack and pick orders efficiently.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
