Description

Job Summary:

Leads safe and high quality patient care at 2101 Walk-in Care. Accountable for the daily clinical functions within the 2101 WIC location. Works directly with the Director of Operations, offering leadership, guidance and assistance as needed to all nursing staff.

Registered Nurse Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring a high standard of nursing care to patients in Walk-in Care, working within company and facility policies and procedures and nursing standards.
  • Assists the Director of Operations in making daily staffing assignments. Adjusts daily assignments throughout the day to assure efficiency of Walk-in Care and to meet all staffing demands
  • Reviews patient care processes. Makes recommendations related to training and skills development to the Director of Operations.
  • Provides leadership for the staff, to assure accountability for the services offered
  • Participates in the Risk Management, Quality Assurance, and Infection Control practices of the Center, and specifically, RHC compliance.
  • Assists with the investigation, follow up, and local resolution of any informal or formal grievances.
  • Developing training plan for new hires or floats and act as or identifying appropriate preceptor.
  • Proficient in execution of the Registered Nurse Walk-in Care job duties and acts as staff RN daily.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Performance Measurements:
  • Performs all Essential Job functions and responsibilities.
  • Maintains a professional and positive attitude, appearance and relationship with patients and staff.
  • Observes facilities guidelines and polices.
Qualifications

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 year of experience in an RN related healthcare position.
  • Previous management or leadership experience is preferred
Education:
  • Must be a licensed registered nurse (RN) in the state of Kansas.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and toxic substances.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally lifts or carries items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires full range of body motion.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Vision and hearing to normal range.
Other Skills:
  • Ability to correlate clinical data with nursing care.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk.
  • Ability to direct and provide for patient care in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of EMR system.
  • Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
  • Works to achieve and maintain regulatory guidelines of Walk-in Care.
  • Must be willing to flex work hours as needed and/or requested by the Director of Operations.
