The institutes include: Ayer Neuroscience, Behavioral Health, Cancer, Digestive Health, Heart and Vascular, Orthopedics and Tallwood Urology & Kidney. Position Summary: The Director of Patient Access Acute and Non-Acute Registration will oversee standard work and workflows across all acute and non-acute registration intake sites while meeting established department metrics and organizational goals and objectives. The Director will collaborate with senior clinical and non-clinical leaders to ensure the level of care delivered to patients is supported with the highest level of administrative support within the scope of Patient Access. The Director will manage Hartford HealthCare’s registration policies, organizational strategic initiatives, and all local, state and regulatory guidelines. Key Accountabilities: * Lead and manage all in scope Patient Access departments, ensuring compliance with all Hartford HealthCare policies, state and regulatory guidelines * Ensuring accurate registrations are maintained to support established performance benchmarks and expectations and navigate change management initiatives for improved team performance * Oversees the development, training and implementation of standard work by the Regional Managers and ensures front line colleagues have received adequate training and are knowledgeable, with demonstrated proficiency, of all internal policies and procedures, and are consistent with standard work * Collaborates with Revenue Cycle leadership and Information Technology leadership team to enhance patient access efficiency with automation and advanced system technology * Prepares, reviews and approves department operational budgets in accordance with organizational targets * Continued development of Hartford HealthCare registration policies and organizational strategic initiatives in accordance with all local, state and regulatory guidelines * Bachelor’s degree is required. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree an Associate’s degree with a minimum of seven years relevant revenue cycle experience may be considered * Seven plus years of revenue cycle leadership experience within a multi-acute hospital health system * Proficient with standard registration performance metrics and KPI indicators * Highly developed communication skills, successfully demonstrated in effectively working with a wide variety of people in both individual and group settings * Strong analytical skills. Problem-solving and inductive reasoning skills, which manifest themselves in creative solutions to operational challenges * Leadership skills to motivate a teams’ performance towards excellence * Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, diplomacy, and relationship building * Exhibits a consistent commitment to continuous improvement and able to drive deliverables with success outcomes as a project manager * Organizes and manages work to achieve results and tracks performance so that problems are detected early on or can be prevented entirely * Ability to partner and collaborate with revenue cycle and senior leadership across the organization * Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations We take great care of careers.
