THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND

We're looking for passionate and empathetic people to join our team as Ophthalmic Techs. Our Techs are responsible for all the pre-exam elements of the patient visit. This includes gathering and documenting patient information and history and conducting routine and ancillary patient testing. You'll play a vital role in the patients experience with OCLI and in helping our Dr's to diagnose and treat eye disorders.

OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU

  • You'll test and record patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
  • You'll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing
  • You'll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians' schedule and maintain patient flow
  • You'll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed
  • You'll perform first level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions
  • You will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • You're an excellent communicator - both verbally and written
  • You're outgoing, you love the idea of interacting with patients everyday
  • You're comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to our patients needs
  • You're a dependable problem solver - you're the one people call to keep cool in stressful situations
  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and work well in collaborative environments
  • You're flexible - you roll with the punches and easily accept change
  • You're knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories is a PLUS, but not a requirement
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
